I've been having a go at using alcohol inks on clay recently. I can't say that I have cracked it yet but I'm definitely up for trying it out more as it is a lot of fun. Take a gander at my first few offerings.
Mixed ink colours on blue clay.
Tip: The inks don't stand out well on the blue clay!
The following pic is inks on a translucent clay with alcohol inks mixed in.
Tip: the inks are a little dark on an alcohol ink base!
I'm still into using embossing powders with clay and my latest attempt was using copper embossing powder in varied amounts. I think the results are pretty cool - the clay cracked a bit and I forgot I had used Fimo so it browned when I baked at a higher temperature, but I think it actually adds to the effects!
I've never been very satisfied with the results when using embossing powders on polymer clay. Having a huge stash of embossing powders though, I thought I would try them in clay. I love the results and I love not knowing what you are going to get in the end - check out the pictures below and see how different the unbaked and baked versions are!
Before on the left, after on the right.

Mixed from all the scraps. I actually prefer the back of the pendant (bottom right pic)!
I think they will look even better in some jewellery.
